Honoring Black History

As we celebrate Black History Month and honor the central role Black Americans have played in U.S. history, we're reminded in so many ways how the fight for racial justice is an ongoing one.

The fight for racial equality takes place – now, as it always has – in our communities, legislatures, workplaces and even inside our union halls. Throughout the month of February, we'll be honoring OPEIU members who continue this fight at work and in their communities, helping to organize their co-workers, standing with striking workers across the country, joining the fight for voting rights, and volunteering to help those in need in their neighborhoods.

We honor them and the accomplishments and struggles of all Black Americans, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

In solidarity,

Team OPEIU

Follow us on social media to read their inspiring stories and join us as we celebrate OPEIU members who are working toward racial justice and equality each and every day.
