Tech Workers at findhelp (formerly Aunt Bertha) File for a Union Election with OPEIU Local 1010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 25, 2023

Austin, Texas (Jan. 25, 2023) – Employees at the public benefit corporation, findhelp (formerly Aunt Bertha), have filed for a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) union election to seek representation with the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 1010.

The group is composed of employees from across the organization – more than 150 curators, engineers, salespeople, business analysts, production support, customer success and other classifications in Austin and across the country who work daily to modernize America’s social safety net for anyone in need. Through unionization, they seek to help improve the company’s retention and ensure greater transparency and participation in decisions that impact staff and the communities they serve. The findhelp employees join a growing movement of tech workers across the country represented by OPEIU’s Tech Workers Union Local 1010.

Findhelp is the nation’s leading social care network, servicing organizations across all 50 U.S. states, territories and Puerto Rico by providing technological solutions to connect resources to their communities with dignity and ease. They work closely with an impressive and diverse list of more than 530 clients in government, housing, food and health care. Since 2012, there have been more than 91.3 million searches using findhelp’s data software and more than 20 million users nationwide.

“As a collective group, the workers at findhelp recently brainstormed and created a renewed set of core company values: Dignity, Ease, and Impact. I believe continued collective action, through a union, is the best way to help our company live out these values, internally and externally,” states Danielle Nasr, senior policy analyst.

“I love the mission of findhelp. I'm not alone in this -- our people here are the best. I think a union contract is the best way to formalize employee relations and open up a healthy and transparent line of communication between leadership and workers,” states John Lednicky, senior software engineer.

In the upcoming weeks, employees hope that findhelp management will uphold company values by remaining neutral through the duration of their union election process.
