Health Care Workers Deserve More Than Applause

The COVID-19 pandemic laid bare the inequities of our system. Working people are looking at work in a different way. They want safe jobs with flexibility, good health care, sick leave and to feel respected and valued. And, they feel a new sense of power and leverage. A wave of collective action is sweeping the country as working people are standing up and demanding dignity, respect and fairness on the job. During what has been dubbed “Striketober,” workers at the Kellogg Co., John Deere, Kaiser Permanente, IATSE and others authorized or went on strike over a host of issues, including fair pay, health care and retirement benefits. They could use your support.
